We are so excited to increase our sponsorship level and to re-brand the popular cancer awareness race as the Drum Hill Senior Living Cancer Awareness Dragon Boat Race in 2011. Our amazing facility overlooks the Hudson River and, we, like our residents are drawn to its majesty and beauty every day. We are so delighted to support Peekskill Celebration because it is part of the fabric of the community just like Drum Hill Senior Living. MetLife has staffed a vendor booth for the past three years and a dragon boat team for the last two years. Our presence at Peekskill celebration allows us to meet our neighbors in a friendly environment, while the dragon boat team builds camaraderie amongst our talented staff of financial advisors. It's a fun community event that we enjoy participating in. Last year we brought a big surprise with us... the MetLife blimp flew over Celebration for several hours. That was a treat for all of us. Peekskill Celebration sheds a giant spotlight on all the good things Peekskill has to offer. Its people, its majestic riverfront, its community spirit and the vibrancy of a small city. People travel from near and far to attend Peekskill Celebration. I even know people who now plan their summer vacations around Celebration weekend. From the chamber of commerce perspective, we are so lucky to have an event of this caliber that attracts visitors and residents to the riverfront. We encourage all of the festival-goers to come back and experience everything Peekskill has to offer in Downtown—fine music, dining, entertainment. We just have the best time at the dragon boat races during Peekskill Celebration. The event teaches teamwork, promotes camaraderie and offers a unique way for both employees and friends to spend time together in a fun setting. Plus, you can't beat the amazing Hudson River views.
